Commander Fletcher E. Sharp

Civil Air Patrol, Plano Mustangs Composite Squadron
The Civil Air Patrol (CAP) was chartered on Dec 1, 1941, the week before Pearl Harbor was attacked. Throughout WW II, the CAP flew small 2 seat aircraft on anti-submarine patrol off the east coast, and eventually the Gulf coast. The CAP was responsible for sinking two German U-boat submarines during the war.
Currently, the CAP is still doing Homeland defense, with several different fronts; the first civil aircraft allowed back into the skies after 9/11 was a CAP aircraft taking digital photos of ground zero in New York City . During the loss of the Challenger shuttle over Texas , CAP members were both in the air and on the ground, assisting in the search. Should a civilian aircraft go missing in the U. S. , over 95% of the force mobilized to look for the downed aircraft are Civil Air Patrol members.
The CAP has a very strong Cadet program that results in stronger, more mature teenagers, preparing them for a successful career as they leave high school, whether it is continuing education at college, or going directly to work or into the military. Aerospace Education, both internally and externally is also a cornerstone of the CAP, along with Emergency Services.
Commander Sharp was a cadet in the late 50's/early 60's and became active as a senior member in 2002. He was appointed the Commander of the Plano Mustangs Composite Squadron in late 2002 and except for a 4 month period last year, has been the commander. Commander Sharp is an A&P mechanic with IA rating (Inspection Authorization) as well as having a single engine commercial pilot’s license.

How do people select their careers?
Where do people start?
Never before has the U.S. Labor force been given more career options in its history, nor has the U.S. Labor force been given less guidance and less education on choosing a fulfilling career. This is especially true with our high school and college students. What's the cost? The cost could be choosing the wrong job at the wrong place and the wrong time.
Participants are exposed to a 15 minute action learning simulation of trading colored beads. The exercise is fast-paced, easy to learn, and has extreme interaction. The object of the simulation is to transform the individual’s mindset in 3 career setting principles.
Past meetings will be slowly added into the database...
