Dear Dallas SWE,
Welcome to FY26!
SWE has always been near and dear to my heart since I joined at Stanford. It is the vehicle that propelled me into my love of outreach and it has kept me connected to incredible communities of women in STEM. When I moved back to Dallas, I found a second home in Dallas SWE and served in the VP of Outreach and President Elect roles. This year, I am thrilled to serve as President and uphold the SWE mission focused on empowerment, engineering as a force to improve the quality of life, and diversity and inclusion. Thank you to the outgoing FY25 officers for their service and dedication to this mission.
In FY26, I have the privilege of working with the Executive Council, an incredible group of women who are passionate about making this year outstanding. When we met as a council for the first time, I was blown away by their enthusiastic energy and innovative ideas. They have a deep desire to create community through each of their different roles. Claire Jordan will bring her passion for SWE, bylaws and procedure to the role of Treasurer. As VP of Outreach, Lyndsey Bouvé, will cultivate outreach events that cater to a diverse range of age groups. Ella Deane will serve as VP of Membership, ensuring every person feels like this is a community they can call home. Anmolika Singh will serve as VP of Professional Development, ensuring our members feel ready to excel at every step of their career journey. Sammy Zellner will return as Secretary, the essential thread of this organization that connects us all.
This is your organization. I encourage you to take a baby step or a large leap and get involved. Are you passionate about teaching kids to code? Join the outreach committee. Are you an avid reader needing to vent about a new thriller you just read? Lead a book club discussion. Did you just move to Dallas and you know no one? Come to a happy hour. Have you lived in Dallas forever, but are looking to change industries? Come to an industry sponsored talk. Be on the lookout for our flagship events, new programming, and new ways to get involved!
There is a place for everyone in Dallas SWE and we would love to help you find your home.
I am only an email away if you have any questions or suggestions.
Welcome to FY26 and we cannot wait to meet you at the kick-off on September 13th!
Best,
Cyonna Holmes, PhD
Dallas SWE FY26 President
