Dear Dallas SWE-sters,
On behalf of the Dallas SWE Executive Council, welcome to FY19! We are looking forward to another great year, with continued opportunities for professional development, social activities, outreach, and so much more. On Saturday, July 14th, the FY18 Executive Council transitioned roles and responsibilities to our current FY19 Council. We had a productive meeting, brainstorming ideas for the year to come. We’ll keep you posted of all our upcoming event through our mailing list (sign up on dallaswe.org, if you haven’t already) and through social media; connect with us via Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, or Instagram.
Before I talk about the future, I want to thank every FY18 officer, committee chair, and committee member for their hard work and dedication to our Dallas SWE section. Your time and efforts ensured that FY18 was another successful year for Dallas SWE (read the FY18 Year in Review).
We’ve already kicked the year off with one of our longstanding STEM Outreach traditions, participating in Moon Day at the Frontiers of Flight Museum on July 21 (recap coming soon). Next month, the FY19 Dallas SWE Executive Council would love to meet-and-greet with our members at brunch on August 25th (details to follow)!

The event included a presentation by Uche Maple, Senior Engineering Manager at Rockwell Collins and Dallas SWE Executive Vice President, and a tour of the facility. Uche ended the talk by providing one simple formula for success, (P+T)*A*A=Success. P=Passion, something that you believe in, T=Talent, something you excel in, A=Association, successful people or organizations and A=Action, steps you can take towards your goal.“Remember that your real wealth can be measured not by what you have, but by what you are.” Napoleon Hill
