Event Recap: STEAM Night at the Ballpark!

On May 8, Dallas SWE joined the Frisco RoughRiders at their STEAM Night as one of several organizations to bring hands-on science to the ballpark before and during the game. At our station, families explored DIY lava lamps and snap circuits, plus the night’s standout — a cardboard robotic arm that let kids try their hand at “surgery,” testing fine motor skills and problem-solving in a way that had lines forming all evening.

We’re grateful to the volunteers who staffed our table and then stayed on to enjoy the game together as a group, to everyone who purchased tickets, and to the Frisco RoughRiders for having us out and creating space for organizations like ours to connect kids and families with STEM. Events like this are how we bring engineering to a new audience in a fun, approachable way.
