June 2026 Member of the Month: Fatima Ansari

Dallas SWE is excited to recognize Fatima Ansari as our June 2026 Member of the Month! Fatima’s passion for learning, leadership, and uplifting others through professional development in STEM has made her an inspiring part of the SWE community, from her meaningful contributions at the University of North Texas to her ongoing efforts to encourage and support fellow students.

Fatima is a President’s List Biomedical Engineering student at the University of North Texas, with minors in Biotechnology and Mathematics. She was born and raised in Hyderabad, India and has always been interested in healthcare. She chose biomedical engineering because it is the perfect combination of healthcare and technology. She enjoys learning how engineering can be used to understand the human body, improve medical devices, and solve problems that can make a real difference in people’s lives.

She has been awarded the President’s list for achieving a perfect 4.0 CGPA in multiple semesters. She is also on the Dean’s list and received the competitive Texas Society of Professional Engineers Denton Scholarship in 2025 for her motivating future goals and inspiring background.

Outside of academics, she has also been a Supplemental Instructor at UNT for multiple subjects such as Intro to Biomedical Engineering, College Algebra, General Psychology etc. and has been successful in helping many students in her role. She served as the Public Relations Chair for the Biomedical Engineering Society at UNT, and has now been selected as the President of UNT BMES 2026-27 because of her notable drive and passion in her previous role.

As an international student, Fatima has experienced what it means to start over, adapt, and keep going even when things feel unfamiliar. It has shaped the way she leads with empathy, patience, and encouragement. She hopes to inspire other women, international students, and students from underrepresented backgrounds to believe that they belong in STEM.

Fatima continues to grow as a student, mentor, and future engineer. She is driven by a simple goal to use what she learns to help people, support those around her, and make her journey meaningful.
